PlayCooker ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the PlayCooker mobile and web application ("App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address (if registering with email, Google, or Apple)
  • Display name (user-provided or from your Google/Apple profile)
  • Profile picture URL (if signing in with Google or Apple)
  • Authentication provider (Google, Apple, Email, or Anonymous)

If you use the App as a guest (anonymous account), we generate a unique anonymous user ID. No personal information is collected until you choose to link your account.

1.2 User-Generated Content

We store content you create within the App, including:

  • Football plays (player positions, routes, colors, labels, defensive shapes, text annotations)
  • Play groups and folder organization
  • Formations and formation groups
  • Defense templates
  • Play metadata (names, creation dates, modification dates)

1.3 Subscription Information

If you subscribe to the Pro Plan, we collect:

  • Subscription status (Free or Pro)
  • Subscription source (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe)
  • Subscription expiration date
  • Transaction identifiers for purchase verification

We do not directly collect or store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or payment card information. All payment processing is handled securely by Apple, Google, or Stripe.

1.4 Device and Usage Information

We collect minimal technical information necessary for the App to function:

  • Device platform (Android, iOS, or Web)
  • App version number

We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, IP addresses, location data, or browsing history.

1.5 Locally Stored Data

The App stores data locally on your device using secure device storage, including:

  • All plays, formations, and groups (as JSON data)
  • User preferences (tutorial progress, sync settings)
  • Undo/redo history (temporary, session-based)

This data remains on your device and is not transmitted unless you enable Cloud Sync (Pro feature).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  • Provide the App's services: Store and display your plays, formations, and content
  • Authenticate your account: Verify your identity when signing in
  • Enable Cloud Sync: Synchronize your content across devices (Pro subscribers only)
  • Manage subscriptions: Verify your subscription status and provide access to Pro features
  • Improve the App: Fix bugs and improve functionality based on general usage patterns
  • Communicate with you: Respond to support inquiries or notify you of important changes

We do not use your information for:

  • Advertising or ad targeting
  • Selling to third parties
  • Profiling or behavioral tracking
  • Marketing communications (unless you opt in)

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Cloud Storage

Account and content data is stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), which provides encryption at rest and in transit, industry-standard security practices, and data centers compliant with SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3, ISO 27001, and other certifications.

3.2 Local Storage

Data stored locally on your device is protected by your device's operating system security. We recommend using a device passcode or biometric lock to protect your local data.

3.3 Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data, including:

  • Secure HTTPS connections for all data transmission
  • Firebase Security Rules restricting data access to authenticated users
  • Server-side subscription verification via Cloud Functions
  • No storage of raw passwords (handled by Firebase Authentication)

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

4.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

5. Data Retention

5.1 Active Accounts

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide you with the App's services.

5.2 Deleted Content

When you delete plays or formations, they are moved to a "Recently Deleted" section where they can be recovered. Permanently deleted content is removed from our servers.

5.3 Account Deletion

If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at support@playcooker.com. Upon deletion, your authentication account, all cloud-stored plays, formations, and user data will be permanently removed. Locally stored data remains on your device until you uninstall the App.

5.4 Subscription Records

Subscription transaction records may be retained as required for financial and legal compliance.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to access, correct, and delete your data through the App. To delete your entire account, contact us at support@playcooker.com.

7. Children's Privacy

PlayCooker is a general-audience sports tool application. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@playcooker.com and we will take steps to delete such information.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside of your country of residence, including in the United States, through our use of Google Firebase. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

9. Analytics and Tracking

PlayCooker does not use analytics or tracking SDKs, advertising identifiers, behavioral tracking or profiling tools, or third-party crash reporting services that collect personal data. The web version uses only essential session cookies.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you may request details about the personal information we collect and how it is used, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of any sale of your data (we do not sell personal information). 12. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object. Our legal basis for processing includes contract performance (to provide the App's services) and legitimate interest (to improve and secure the App).
